Dance the Light Away (2025)
One of my biggest roles on a short film was for ‘Dance the Light Away’ created by Annabelle Snelling. The film follows a group of 20 somethings in a Wellington overrun by giant killer Crane flies and is intended to serve as a proof of concept for a feature length film. I was responsible for designing and making/sourcing the costumes for the 5 main characters but also came on later as graphic designer, creating assets such as the logo and posters for the film as well as in world graphics. The director’s aim was to create a fully realised world, one that felt fun and colourful and showcased Wellington and the talent within it.

Fairies playing football (2024)
Fairies playing football was a family friendly theatre production created by Sarah Penny for the Wellington fringe festival 2024. My role was as costume designer/maker and I also provided some props. Because this was a low budget indie production most of my costumes were sourced, however I made multiple bespoke pieces including wings, hats, masks and team vests.

Funny Business (2024)
Other costumes I made for Sarah were a pair of clown costumes for a short film called ‘Funny Business’. Sarah has also used these costumes for other performances around Wellington and they are some of my favourites I’ve ever made! They were meant to look crafty and colourful so I added lots of fun textures including crochet, rhinestones and pom poms.

Mr Burns: A Post Electric Play (2023)
The final live performance I worked on during my studies was ‘Mr Burns: A post electric play’ written by Anne Washburn and directed by Stella Reid. I was in charge of costume design for all 3 acts. The first and second acts were a typical, post apocalyptic aesthetic, however the third act threw that out the window and staged an exaggerated, insanely incorrect recreation of the Simpsons episode ‘Cape Feare’. For this I designed this set of Simpsons costumes inspired by religious deities and figures of myth and legend, which were assembled by students of the Diploma of costume construction.
